Artist's Comments

We all knew I would end up doing some Tekken fanart.

Didn't bother coloring the lines in this one either.

What else... the caption is so silly. It was supposed to be a reference to her own final video (and Lili's) in Tekken 6, but in the end, it isn't o.O

That's it, I guess ^_^ Still experimenting with the shading o.O

And AW! The symbol on her b00b and the skirt were a pain. More the symbol, to tell the truth o.O

(the character belongs to whoever owns Tekken)

Critiques

:iconjeagerjack:
Let me start by saying that Asuka is one of my favorite Tekken characters, but that's not going to alter this critique, I'll base it solely on the art (although I do applaud you for picking such a great character).

I've got to start on the stance, it's very dynamic. Without having her doing any real stunts or attacks, you were still able to convey a wonderful sense of action with just a simple finger point. This is achieved mostly by two things. Her expression shows a perfect sense of passion and power that it seems to blow off the page and hit the viewer. The other way you achieved this is with the incredible action lines. I can't even imagine how long that must have taken you, I mean they're each different lengths, different shades of black, and different widths. That attention to detail is what has always impressed me with your art.

Staying with the subject of your attention to detail, it can be seen all over this pic. Everything from the slight lines on her cheek to show her passion, to the incredible line work on her sweater logo, and especially on the skirt. I mean I have no idea how you created that skirt so well, if I didn't know any better I'd say you must have just taken a photo of a real skirt and photoshoped it in, that's how good it looks. Also, that attention to detail is really seen in your shading and lighting, you really let the lights and shadows go exactly where they should to create a powerful light source and sense of shape to her form.

So as I said, even though this is one of my favorite characters, I was unbiased with my critique. You truly have done an amazing job.

Sweet fan art! She looks lovely! The pose is dynamic though she's not "moving"! And the logo on her chest looks quite good!
